Jersey City, N.J.—Warren at York, a new luxury rental property in Jersey City, N.J., has been given its grand opening. In a ceremony attended by Jersey City and Hudson County officials as well as developer BNE Real Estate Group, the community was unveiled for renters from both sides of the Hudson River.

The 11-story, 139-unit property features a collection of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences. The building’s design, by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, delivers a multi-colored, glass-and-brick exterior and an urban-rustic panache. Warren at York’s design reflects the aesthetics and character of its surrounding neighborhood, notable for its venerable brownstones, tree-lined boulevards, beckoning stores and cozy bistros and coffee shops.

Named for its location at the crossroads of Warren and York Streets, Warren at York is three blocks away from the Hudson River waterfront. With the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and New York Waterway ferry service steps away and the Exchange Place PATH station and Grove Street PATH station just three and six blocks away respectively, the building’s location will delight many commuters.

Residences range in size from 607 square feet to a sprawling 1,789 square feet in the three-bedroom penthouse homes. Monthly rents extend from the $2,100s to the upper range of the $5,000s.

Common spaces feature reclaimed materials that result in exposed wood-beam ceilings and classic brick backdrops. They combine to deliver an ambience many will find reflective of a Brooklyn development.

Buttery-soft leather sofas, cowhide rugs and other industrial-style furniture blend together to offer the common areas a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The boutique building’s suite of amenities and services belies its size. Residents will enjoy 24-hour concierge service, state-of-the-art fitness center, residents’ lounge, billiards, media room, kitchenette, landscaped outdoor terrace, green roof, dog run and on-site parking. Designed to be green-conscious and pet-friendly, Warren at York makes available non-smoking floors as well.

At the grand opening ceremony, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop reported some have asked whether Jersey City can sustain its current high rate of development.

“And to that I say the fact that this building is 25 percent leased after only being open for four days speaks volumes about the appeal of Jersey City and its potential for growth,” he says.

The mayor spoke too soon. Only three days later, the building surpassed the 50 percent leased mark.

BNE Real Estate Group senior vice president Jonathan Schwartz notes downtown Jersey City is renowned for its eclectic urban lifestyle and terrific access to mass transportation.

“Warren at York embraces that lifestyle with contemporary apartments and boutique-style amenities in a true neighborhood setting,” he adds. “Demand for luxury housing in this area continues to grow, and we are proud to meet that demand with a unique new offering designed specifically to enhance the appeal of downtown Jersey City.”
