Building and Land Technology (BLT) has opened a new luxury apartment tower in its home base of Stamford, Conn., a 435-unit community dubbed Escape in the Harbor Point neighborhood. Pre-leasing on the property at 880 Pacific St. kicked off this week and the first move-ins are expected as early as February 1.
The waterfront project continues the transformation of Stamford’s South End, where BLT has built more than 4,000 apartments over the last decade, as well as bringing in dozens of retailers and restaurants and creating new public parks. Escape is located at the corner of Pacific St. and Harbor Point Road, about half a mile south of the city’s train station, which offers Amtrak service and Metro-North service to New York City.

Commercial and residential real estate firm BLT noted in a statement that it has a waitlist of more than 600 interested renters and has booked or given more than 80 virtual tours of the property. Units range in size from 701 to 4,455 square feet across one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts along with four-bedroom penthouses. Apartments will include high-end finishes including floor-to-ceiling windows, Silestone countertops and wood plank flooring.
Wine storage included
Amenities of the new property will run the gamut from a fitness center and pool to a screening room and climate-controlled wine tasting room with private bottle storage. The community also offers a game room, café and 24/7 front desk concierge, along with basketball, pickleball and shuffleboard courts.
BLT said that it has recorded a surge of new leases since March 2020, when the pandemic hit the U.S., with New Yorkers relocating to Harbor Point comprising one in three new renters. Overall the company has doubled its rate of new leases per day and rented out buildings in half the time it took previously.
The company’s other projects in Stamford include Harbor Landing Apartments, a 218-unit luxury rental community at 28 Southfield Ave. that opened its doors in mid-2018.
