Bernards Starts Building Upscale Retirement Community in Laguna Niguel
Developer Steadfast Senior Living is aiming for a November 2017 completion on the $100 million project.
Laguna Niguel, Calif.—The Crestavilla luxury senior housing community in Laguna Niguel is now underway. Bernards is handling the construction of the $100 million project, and recently broke ground on the property that’s slated for completion in the fall of 2017. The commercial builder was awarded the contract by project developer Steadfast Senior Living, an Irvine, Calif.-based subsidiary of the Steadfast Cos.
Taking shape on an 11-acre plot of land at 30111 Niguel Road, Crestavilla will be a resort-style senior-living community with ultra-luxury features. The services provided at the property will be comparable to those of a five-star hotel, while the grounds will offer lush landscaping. Totaling 211,387 square feet of space, the facility’s unit mix will include 112 independent living units, 72 assisted-living units, as well as 36 memory care beds. The property will also feature one below-grade parking level, as well as three levels of above-grade residential living.
Crestavilla was designed by William Hezmalhalch Architects, a Santa Ana, Calif.-based company. Project contractor Bernards is working on a number of senior living developments, including a number of Sunrise Senior Living communities, while its ongoing luxury multifamily projects also include Caruso Affiliated’s 8500 on Burton Way community in Beverly Hills.
