Berkshire Residential Investments has named David Olney as CEO. A partner with 33 years of experience in the firm, Olney played a vital part in all aspects of the company’s evolution into a vertically-integrated, institutional investment manager and operator specializing in U.S. rental housing, with currently more than $8.7 billion in real estate assets under management.
For the past 20 years, Olney has served as Berkshire’s chief investment officer and chair of the investment committee, leading the company’s investment strategy and execution. Since joining the firm in 1986, he has executed investments in the U.S. rental housing sector totaling more than $12 billion. A recent example of the company’s investment strategy is the acquisition of Vargos on the Lake in Houston. The 276-unit community was purchased from developer Hunington Properties.
