Behring Cos. Launches Leasing at Oakland Tower

Leasing has begun at 1900 Broadway, a 39-story, 452-unit mixed-use development in Oakland, Calif. The community, developed by Behring Cos., is located minutes from downtown San Francisco.
In addition to the luxury apartments, the 421-foot-tall tower features about 53,650 square feet of flex office and coworking space, about 6,700 square feet of retail and more than 47,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, including access to a private Tesla fleet, all of which are accessible through Behring Cos.’ integrated mobile app, Stak. The property also has a fully automated parking garage and is located directly above the 19th Street BART station, offering rail access to San Francisco, Berkeley, Calif., and the entire East Bay.
The property is the flagship for Behring Co.’s StakSite concept, which integrates luxury apartments, office space, amenities and transportation. The developer received a $175 million construction loan originated on March 20, 2020, for the development, according to Yardi Matrix data.
Residential features
1900 Broadway offers 452 luxury apartments with a mix of studios, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floorplans ranging in size from 528 to 1,474 square feet. The property includes a penthouse collection, furnished residents and coliving options. Select residences have Ori Living expandable furniture, including Cloud Beds and Pocket Closets, a space-saving technology that increases usable square footage by 30 percent or more, according to the developer.
Unit features include up to 10-foot ceiling heights, distressed oak wood-look plank flooring, in-unit washers and dryers and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Oakland skyline, Lake Merritt and San Francisco Bay. Kitchen amenities include Italian cabinetry, Dekton marble-look countertops, French-door refrigerators, Samsung Smart appliances and climate-conscious electric stovetops. The apartments have smart technology including Nest thermostats and Latch door locks that are controlled through the Stak app. Rents start at $1,669 for studios and $1,460 for coliving options.
Building Amenities
The lobby was designed by Elizabeth Premazzi and furnished by Restoration Hardware. A 24-hour concierge desk is available, as are communal and private workspaces. Amenities are focused on health, wellness and leisure and include a 6,650-square-foot fitness center designed by MoveStrong with equipment, group workout classes and fitness coaching. A fourth-floor lounge includes a social lounge, billiards and table games, poker and card room, media lounge and 12-tap digital taproom serving beer, wine, kombucha and other beverages on demand. It also has a deck with a pool surrounded by day beds and chaise lounges, entertaining space with barbeques and fire pits, outdoor coworking space, a sporting turf lawn and dog park.
The penthouse lounge on the 39th floor features a cocktail bar, private 16-seat boardroom, warming kitchen, media wall with seating and outdoor lanai. Additional amenities include 18 double-height sky terraces on alternating floors; a pet spa with washing and grooming facilities; bicycle and self-storage; digital package management and electric vehicle chargers.
In addition to the Tesla fleet, residents have access to scooters, micromobility options and ride-share services that are hosted onsite. For those using BART, 1900 Broadway is a 13-minute train ride to San Francisco’s Embarcadero station and 20 minutes to Oakland International Airport. With a 99 Walk Score, the building is near restaurants, shopping centers and entertainment venues like the Fox Theater and Paramount Theatre.
Bozzuto is handling leasing and property managements, offering amenities like their “Away from Home” service, which offers plant care, feline care, newspaper delivery and optional in-home packaging delivery.
