Auburn, Ala.—Work has started on 319 Bragg, a student-housing property at Auburn University. The community is being developed by Barrett Development Group, a student-housing specialist based in Athens, Ga.

Located at Bragg Ave. and Donahue Dr., the 86-unit 319 Bragg will have 305 beds. Floor plan options include two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom units, each with kitchens, breakfast islands, wood flooring, exterior balconies and walk-in closets.

Common amenities include a resort-style pool, water and sand volleyball, beach hammocks, 24/7 fitness center, locker rooms and steam rooms, tanning salon, putting green, dog park, game room and a study lounge with individual study rooms. The property is located three blocks from campus.

Auburn, a public university in eastern Alabama, currently has an enrollment of about 25,000. Only about one-fifth of the total student population lives on campus, though some of the on-campus properties are fairly new. The single-building South Donahue residence, for example, opened this year, with various amenities generally associated with contemporary student housing (such as a flat-screen TV in each unit).

According to Barrett Development Group’s Brandon Barrett, the company is already experiencing “tremendous interest” in 319 Bragg. The development will be complete for students to move in August 2014.
