Baptist Gardens Opens in Atlanta
Residents have started moving to Baptist Gardens, an affordable seniors housing property in Atlanta.

Atlanta—Residents have started moving to Baptist Gardens, an affordable seniors housing property in Atlanta. The four-story building includes 100 one-bedroom units for residents 55 and older.
The $8.56 million project was built by National Church Residences using Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financing. Residents will have access to a service coordination program that helps them obtain assistance from outside agencies with a variety of tasks, including paying bills, arranging transportation and working with health-care providers.
Baptist Gardens has a library, computer center, a 1,500-square-foot community center with a kitchen, and an on-site laundry. The property also features a security gate, as well as a courtyard and walking trail through wooded areas and gardens. Designed and built by NorSouth Constructs, it’s LEED Gold.
“Given that the affordable senior housing market in this area is extremely tight, it is our opinion that the subject property could draw from existing waiting lists at LIHTC senior properties in the area,” noted a feasibility study about the project by VWB Research, positing that demand would be high for this kind of property. “The fact that the project will be new construction with modern amenities and finishes will boost marketability. The site’s proximity to Baptist Towers, also operated by the developer, will enhance marketability as Baptist Towers has a good reputation in the area.”
With 330 properties in 28 states and Puerto Rico, National Church Residences is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit developers and managers of affordable senior housing. In Atlanta the organization also has affordable senior housing at Lakewood Christina Manor, Trinity Towers and Baptist Towers and construction of another property is underway at Betmar Village.
