Aventon Cos. already has plans for its second community in the Raleigh metro area with a 293-unit multifamily development in the works. The company broke ground on Aventon Kit Creek in Cary, N.C., and is expecting to complete the community in fall 2023. Aventon is serving as the developer and general contractor for the project, but tapped Watts Leaf Architects to design the community, while Studio 5 Interiors Inc. handled the interior design.

Aventon Kit Creek will have its units spread across three separate residential buildings on a nearly 16-acre site. The Class A development will have studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 622 to 1,415 square feet. Aventon Kit Creek’s amenities will include a saltwater pool, sundeck, fitness center, remote working hub, and pet spa and dog park.

Located in Cary, the community is going to be a half-mile away from Apple’s future campus in the area, which is expected to be a $1 billion development to accommodate 3,000 employees. Ron Perera, senior managing director for Aventon Cos., said in prepared remarks that Cary is one of the most desirable places to live within North Carolina due to its job market and good schools.

Aventon Kit Creek will be the company’s second property within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro area, following Aventon Nora. The other project is located in Raleigh and is expected to start pre-leasing its 372 units this summer. Outside the Raleigh metro, Aventon Cos. is also planning to develop a community further west in Charlotte, N.C.

In total, the company’s portfolio now adds up to a $2 billion portfolio of ground-up developments that are expected to bring nearly 7,600 Aventon-branded homes to Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic states. Aventon Cos. also recently broke ground on a 308-unit apartment community in Orlando, Fla.
