The Woodlands, Texas—Avanti Senior Living is on the verge of starting work on its latest property, Avanti at Flower Mound, which is part of a series of the developments by the Woodlands-based company either recently under way or in the advanced planning stages. They include Avanti at Towne Lake, which broke ground this spring, and Avanti at Vision Park. All of the properties are in Texas.
Each property will provide 90 to 150 one- and two-bedroom suites. They offer a spectrum of seniors accommodation, including assisted living and memory care facilities.
According to Avanti founders CEO Tim Hekker and COO Lori Juneau-Alford, the new properties are looking to depart from the design of standard seniors housing, with a goal of creating “a relaxed and uplifting culture.” Toward that end, residential suites will include wood flooring, expansive windows, walk-in-closets, oversized showers, and other comfort features. Avanti will systematically place device charging stations and outlets in common areas so that residents and guests can charge their electronic devices.
Also, RFID keyless entries will allow residents to enter and exit their suites without carrying their keys. Short distances to resident destinations, as well as the layout of the property, enable easy navigation to various destinations, including a wellness center with a ballet bar and fitness equipment, a theater, and a full service salon and spa.
Avanti’s memory care, called Salize, has been designed with open spaces, short, easy-to-see walkways and natural light, so residents don’t feel overwhelmed or challenged by hidden corridors. Simulated lighting helps cue residents to phases of the day and highlights common household areas. In their specialized memory care neighborhood, residents will have their own dining area, theater, salon and other amenities.
