Assurant Launches Tech Support Product

Technology assistance is becoming increasingly important to consumers.

Atlanta-based Assurant has launched Assurant TechPro, a pioneering tech support solution aimed at specifically designed to help multifamily residents facing technical issues with consumer electronics.

The technology allows property managers to offer residents access to Assurant’s tech support team anytime, day or night. Available via phone or online chat, the team can help troubleshoot tech issues, lessening a management office’s tech burden.

Assurant is “setting a new benchmark for innovation within the multifamily housing industry,” Ryan Lumsden, president of renters solutions at Assurant, said in a statement.

Renters are increasingly seeking out properties and residences equipped with smart technology and are turning to property managers for assistance with setting up devices, troubleshooting electronic problems and helping with internet connectivity issues. Assurant’s research shows that 20 percent of maintenance calls from residents to property managers are related to tech support, while 86 percent of renters believe that such services would notably enhance brand perception for property management firms.

“Our research tells us that on average, a person has 6.8 connected devices, and is going to need tech support at some point,” Joe Settimi, senior vice president of renters solutions at Assurant, said in the statement.
