Altman Companies Set to Begin Construction of 239-Unit Mixed-Use Community

The Altman Companies has acquired 10-acres in the Westchase area of Tampa and intends to immediately start the construction of a 239-unit mixed-use community, the Altis at Highland Park, with hopes of delivering the first units by July of next year.

Hillsborough County, Fla.—The Altman Companies has acquired 10-acres in the Westchase area of Tampa and intends to immediately start the construction of a 239-unit mixed-use community, the Altis at Highland Park, with hopes of delivering the first units by July of next year. PNC Bank is the lender for the project.

The community, which will be constructed within close proximity to Clearwater and downtown, will feature studios as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom residences and will also contain about 5,000 square-feet worth of retail space. Units at the community are slated to include designer kitchens and bathrooms, featuring vessel sinks, upgraded cabinetry and lighting, granite countertops, energy efficient appliances and programmable thermostats. Floor plans with private entries, direct-access garages and faux hardwood flooring will be available on a limited basis.

The communitiy’s amenities will feature a 5,600-square-foot clubhouse with a movie theater and surround sound, a state-of-the-art fitness center, cyber café and club room. Topping the list of the outdoor amenities will be the resort-style pool with sundeck, as well as a pool pavilion with an outdoor demonstration kitchen, bar and barbecue area. Additional barbecue areas, outdoor seating will be located throughout the community and other amenities will include a dog park, community garden and children’s playground.

Altis at Highland Park is just one of a handful of developments that The Altman Companies is working on in Florida. The company recently opened its 258-unit Altis at Grand Cypress in New Tampa, Fla., while completion of the 270-unit Altis at Coconut Creek in Coconut Creek, Fla., is expected within the next few weeks.

The company has two other new developments, the Altis at Sheridan Village and the Altis at Kendall Square. The communities will add 300 and 321 units to the market, respectively.
