Citronelle, Ala.–AHEPA 310 of Citronelle, a new affordable seniors housing complex in Citronelle, Ala., has been given its official opening ceremony. That ceremony featured a ribbon cutting and building dedication.

Located at 8435 West State Street in Citronelle, the development is a two-story, 37-unit apartment building owned by AHEPA 310 of Citronelle Inc. It is designed to serve residents who are 62 and older and meet income guidelines.

The building is the 13th affordable senior apartment property for AHEPA 310 Housing Corporation. The corporation has affordable housing for more than 650 older adults throughout Mobile County and in two Baldwin County, Ala. cities.

The creation of AHEPA 310 of Citronelle “was an opportunity to offer senior housing to the north part of Mobile County,” Jody Prater, regional manager of Fishers, Ind.-based AHEPA Management Company, tells MHN. “AHEPA 310 of Citronelle was the last senior housing property funded by HUD in the State of Alabama.”

Among the features of the apartments are dishwashers, refrigerators with ice makers, carpeting, mini blinds, an entrance system that unlocks the front door and an emergency call system, Prater reports.

AHEPA 310 of Citronelle offers a number of common-area amenities, including an expansive community room with kitchen, exercise room, craft room, library, laundry, trash chute, large property management office and supportive service offices.

“It’s fully furnished with modern furniture and necessary furnishings to make the property very livable,” Prater says, adding that the community also offers an “outside patio with gazebo walking path for exercise, [and] three beautiful flag poles to display our flags on handsomely landscaped grounds.”
