55-Unit Condo Community in Boston Awarded LEED Gold Certification
The Lancaster, a 55-unit condo community in The Hub’s Brighton neighborhood, recently received LEED Gold certification, a groundbreaking distinction within its market.

Boston—The Lancaster, a 55-unit condo community in The Hub’s Brighton neighborhood, recently received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The project developer, Brighton Partnership for Community Reinvestment LLC, is an entity comprised of Diamond Sinacori, Hart Development Associates, and Cambridge, Mass.-based Urban Spaces. Boston area architectural firm Tise Design Associates and general contractor Metric Corp. completed the Boston development team, with real estate firm Charlesgate Realty currently handling marketing efforts.
“The Lancaster’s LEED Gold Certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” said Rick Fedrizzi, CEO & founding chair of the USGBC, in prepared remarks. Taza Vercruysse, project manager at CLEAResult, the consulting and verification services firm and LEED Green Rater for the project, added, “Urban Spaces has built a resource-efficient multi-family building that reduced waste during construction, maximizes performance, conserves energy, and is easy on the environment due to such features as its close proximity to public transportation.”
Completed in 2015, The Lancaster showcases one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, as well as penthouses. According to the property’s website, all condos previously available for sale are currently sold out. At the time of publication, Charlesgate Realty’s online listing service featured 782-square-foot, one-bedroom units for $2,400 per month, 988-square-foot, two-bedroom units for $3,300 per month, as well as a 1,264-square-foot penthouse commanding $3,700 in monthly rent.
The property, sitting at 1501 Commonwealth Avenue, is just a few steps from MBTA’s Green Line. Located mid-way between Boston University and Boston College, the green multifamily development is within a 20-minute ride from Harvard Square, MIT, or South Station. Amenities include an interior courtyard patio, fitness room, yoga studio, and secure vehicle and bicycle garage.
