365-Key Manila Gaming Resort Hotel to Be Managed By Hyatt

Manila, Philippines–Integrated casino resort developer Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts Corporation, a subsidiary of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, through an affiliate, have entered into a management agreement for Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, a two-tower, 365-key hotel set to open in 2014.

The hotel will be located in City of Dreams Manila, an integrated resort facility at the Gateway of Entertainment City, Manila, overlooking Manila Bay and it surroundings. The hotel will feature 365 guestrooms and amenities such as a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, VIP lounge and two dining venues. The hotel will also benefit from having direct access to three distinct entertainment venues, including a live performance lounge, nightclub and a family entertainment center.

Hyatt City of Dreams Manila will target both leisure travelers, and business travelers boasting easy access to Manila’s CBD, the SM Mall of Asia, Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the gaming facilities of City of Dreams and Entertainment City.

Currently under development, City of Dreams Manila is a mixed-use resort development featuring hotel, retail, casino and entertainment components. Expected to open in 2014, the project will feature gaming facilities, including 365 gaming tables, 1,680 slot machines and 1,680 electronic table games, a bevy of specialty restaurants, bars, a multi-story parking facility and three separate entertainment venues. The namesake of Melco Crown’s original City of Dreams gaming resort in Macau, China, will also include six hotel towers: the 365-key Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, 321-key Nobu Hotel, Asia’s first, and the six-star 260-key Crown Towers. The project also includes the Fortune Egg, an architecturally striking structure housing entertainment venues expected to become a landmark of the Manila Bay area, and the world’s first DreamWorks-inspired “Edutainment” center, an education-based, interactive entertainment concept.

Rising on a 15-acre site, City of Dreams Manila is being developed by and will be operated by Melco Crown Philippines in partnership with SM Group’s Belle Corporation and marks the former’s formal entry into the rapidly growing tourism industry of the Philippines. The casino resort is expected to create around 5,000 new jobs.
