$35M Goes into FL Senior Living Expansion
Construction of Mallorca is underway and the renovations and expansions will be completed by the first quarter of 2018.
Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.—La Posada, a continuing care retirement community in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., announced its $35 million expansion and renovation project.
The expansion includes the addition of Mallorca at La Posada, a four-story building that will feature 54 apartment homes designed for seniors to age in place in studio, one- and two-bedroom floorplans. Residents will have access to amenities such as a restaurant, pub, salon and spa, fitness center, indoor and outdoor common areas, housekeeping services, scheduled transportation, wellness and lifestyle programs and access to the community’s five-start rated Health Care Center. Interiors will be equipped with full kitchens, washers and dryers and balconies.
“Mallorca will enhance our 22-acre campus and will add another lifestyle experience that will enrich the lives of all La Posada residents,” said Andy Kohlberg, president & CEO of Kisco Senior Living. “Having the choice between two different styles of apartment homes—those currently available at La Posada and those in Mallorca—will allow us to offer a broader range of lifestyle options. Mallorca will give residents the chance to age in place where all the amenities are located under one roof.”
In addition to Mallorca, Kisco is renovating the La Posada clubhouse to include a free-standing 3,400-square-foot state-of-the-art wellness center with locker rooms, a workout space with glass walls to enjoy lake views and the nearby pool to exercise. Also in the clubhouse will be a new bar and lounge area with large screen televisions. A display kitchen will be the centerpiece of the new dining venue and a walking path will be featured to loop around the entire campus.
“By adding apartments and increasing amenities, current and future residents will have more options to enhance their active lifestyles,” said Brad Cadiere, executive director at La Posada. “We are creating more areas for residents to explore life, focus on wellness, socialize and enjoy varied dining experiences. We look forward to offering our current residents more choices and we are thrilled to welcome even more residents to our community.”
Construction of Mallorca is underway and the renovations and expansions will be completed first quarter 2018. Pre-sales for Mallorca will begin January 1, 2017, and residents can choose from 20 floor plans up to 2,600 square feet.
