When you’re looking to improve resident retention and explore new marketing strategies, conferences are designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge needed to make your brand stand out.

We’ve highlighted five events that should be on every multifamily marketer’s list this year and offered you a glimpse into what each conference has to offer.

RETCON

The RETCON Conference, set for March 10th to 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will bring together real estate executives and technology innovators to explore the latest advancements in PropTech, portfolio strategies and market dynamics. Following last year’s discussions on how technology is redefining multifamily operations, RETCON can offer you some insights on data-driven decision-making processes and optimizing management through automation, as well as leveraging AI for marketing properties and retaining tenants.

Although it caters to all ranges of real estate, from office to senior housing, the event’s agenda includes several sessions suitable for multifamily managers and marketers. On the operations side, technology-driven efficiency will be a major topic, with discussions on the use of AI for streamlining the leasing processes and improving retention rates. The role of data analytics in making smarter business decisions will also be a key focus and it will explore how data helps multifamily operators maximize efficiency and occupancy rates.

On the marketing and resident engagement front, sessions will highlight how AI and digital innovation are redefining how properties attract and retain residents. Attendees will gain strategies for enhancing brand positioning and increasing leads through new marketing techniques and AI-driven insights. The sessions will also explore how personalization can improve the resident experience, ensuring a human touch in an increasingly automated world.

For the first time, the event will feature hands-on workshops alongside expert-led discussions on AI-driven strategies, influencer marketing and emerging social media trends. Several speakers at the conference include executives of Asset Living, Landmark Properties, Apartment SEO, REACH by Rent Cafe, Zumper and HubSpot, among others.

The first day kicks off with AI-focused sessions, including an executive discussion on striking the right balance between automation and human creativity. The session will be followed by hands-on workshops that will guide attendees through AI-powered content strategies, effective prompt engineering for social media and trust-building in the age of digital reputation management.

In the next few days, the agenda dives into high-impact marketing techniques, featuring a keynote on how AI can amplify team productivity. Sessions will explore unconventional approaches to apartment marketing, influencer collaborations and the evolving role of YouTube, Instagram and streaming TV in property promotion. Lastly, the attendees can learn more about visibility strategies through user-generated content, the shifting dynamic of Google as a dominant tool in the sector and how AI is redefining social media engagement.

Apartment Innovation and Marketing Conference (AIM)

The 2025 Apartment Innovation and Marketing Conference is set to take place between May 4th and 7th at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa in Huntington Beach, Calif. The annual event will bring together multifamily industry leaders to explore innovative business solutions and strategies for enhancing the resident experience. Following last year’s discussions—covering emerging tools like AI, brand development, hospitality-driven approaches and video marketing—this year’s conference will delve deeper into what’s “hot” in multifamily marketing, resident retention strategies and technology integration.

Multifamily executives, operators and AIM sponsors will have access to four days of expert-led sessions, workshops, roundtables and networking opportunities. Industry leaders from REACH by RentCafe, SmartRent, Marcus & Millichap, Bozzuto and RPM Living, among others, will be the spokespersons, providing valuable insights and collaboration opportunities.

According to the event’s agenda, the conference will kick off with a day dedicated to networking, including meet-ups designed for first-time attendees and multifamily owners and managers. The second day will focus on multifamily marketing, covering topics such as search engine optimization, Google insights, generative AI, the impact of convenience culture and website efficiency. Subsequent sessions will explore renter preferences, community engagement, trust-building and strategies for leveraging resident feedback. On the final day, discussions will center on resident retention, with panels addressing flexible living models, the role of digital platforms in engagement and how to reshape marketing narratives for a rapidly evolving industry.

NAA Apartmentalize

NAA’s Apartmentalize Conference, taking place June 11–13 in Las Vegas, is a key event for multifamily professionals, offering extensive networking opportunities and insights into the industry’s evolving landscape. Last year’s conference focused on AI integration in operations and marketing, as well as IT solutions designed to streamline leasing processes. This year, the event continues its tradition of delivering diverse programming, featuring discussions on technology advancements, operational efficiencies and innovative marketing strategies.

A highlight of the conference is the NAA Exposition, where attendees can explore the latest products and services from industry leaders. The NSC Lounge provides an opportunity to connect with members of the NAA’s National Suppliers Council, while the Express Education stages offer concise 30-minute sessions packed with actionable insights. Beyond the expo, the conference also features governance and education-focused events, along with networking sessions and the NAA Excellence Awards, which celebrate leadership and innovation within the rental housing sector.

This year’s educational sessions will cover a wide range of topics relevant to property managers and marketing professionals, including data-driven industry tracking, marketing strategies resilient to market shifts, hospitality-focused approaches in multifamily and the power of storytelling in brand building. Additionally, discussions will explore strategies for creating a strong digital presence and adapting to emerging industry trends, equipping attendees with the tools needed to stay competitive in the evolving multifamily space.

OutREACH Live

The OutREACH Live conference, organized by REACH by Rent Cafe, will take place between December 9th and 11th at The Brown Hotel in Louisville, Ky., and will bring together multifamily marketing and management professionals for three days of industry discussions, networking and strategy sessions. For the first time, the event will not be invite-only and it’s open to a broader audience, providing you with an opportunity to gain insights into the latest multifamily marketing trends.

Last year’s edition included a mix of case studies and expert-led presentations, as well as discussions on how to get the right traffic and enhance SEO efforts, using marketing technology for personalized interactions and harnessing the power of AI for better results. Although this year’s agenda has not been fully revealed yet, the structure will remain the same and will include hands-on sessions and interactive learning opportunities for attendees, focusing on subjects like AI and GEO.

However, the organizers are also trying to infuse a bit of local culture into the conference and guests will have access to a Kentucky soirée where they can explore bourbon history and design their Derby hat. The second day, which includes most of the educational sessions, will conclude with an evening at Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum, offering a look at one of the city’s greatest race and traditions. The event will conclude with the OutREACH Live LIVE, which will highlight emerging marketing innovations and a development roadmap.
