2021 REIT Dividend Yields

As of Nov. 2, the health care sector recorded the highest one-year average this group, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The health care REIT sector recorded the highest one-year average dividend yield among this group, at 4.3 percent, outperforming the broader Dow Jones Equity All REIT Index by 1.4 percentage points.

The self storage and apartments sectors followed with 3.4 percent and 2.9 percent one-year average dividend yields, respectively.

On the other end of the spectrum, the manufactured homes REIT sector logged the lowest average dividend yield at 2.1 percent; however, it outperformed the 10-Year T-Note by 70 basis points.

As of June 1, publicly traded U.S. equity REITs posted a one-year average dividend yield of 3.2 percent.

The health care REIT sector recorded the highest one-year average dividend yield among this group, at 4.9 percent, outperforming the broader SNL U.S. REIT Equity Index by 1.6 percentage points. The multifamily and self storage REIT sectors followed with 3.7 percent and 3.5 percent one-year average dividend yields, respectively.

On the other end of the spectrum, the manufactured homes REIT sector logged the lowest average dividend yield at 2.2 percent; however, it outperformed the 10-Year T-Note by 119 basis points.
