the remyBerman Enterprises‘ affiliate LIVEbe has started design work on the second phase of The Remy, a mixed-used property in Lanham, Md., in Prince George’s County. Construction will follow, adding more than 200 residential units to the first phase of the property. The property also includes 70,000 square feet of retail.

The Remy consists of studios, one- and two-bedroom units and a rooftop lounge. Common amenities include an outdoor hydrotherapeutic saltwater pool, outdoor grills, bocce court, landscaped courtyards, pet park, pet spa, fitness center with yoga studio, game room, and movie-screening room. Residents also have access to concierge service and self-serve package lockers.

The property, located at 7730 Harkins Road, also counts as transit-oriented. The Remy is near the New Carrollton Station, which provides access to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., New York and Pennsylvania via Amtrak and Metrorail.

“Ultimately, The Remy will be a small part of a dynamic neighborhood,” said Elaine De Lude, vice president of LIVEbe. “But we believe a community-focused new apartment development with retailers will provide a solid start for the Harkins District.”

Harkins District is the name that developers and owners in the area are promoting for the previously nameless district. The Remy is Berman Enterprises’ third development in the immediate area. The company also developed a four-story office building that is home to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and education technology.
