Plans for the eight story building, drawn up by Ankrom Moisan Architects, call for seven stories of apartments above three retail units encompassing 5,924 square feet of space.

Located at 1638 W. Burnside St., the development site is situated two blocks from Interstate 405 and within walking distance from Portland’s light rail system. The city’s central business district sits a half mile to the southeast. The new apartment community will offer a range of amenities, including a penthouse-level club room, a fitness center and outdoor seating areas. Residents will also have access to 83 subterranean parking spaces and 209 secure bicycle storage spaces.

The development site previously was home to a Jaguar dealership, which moved across the river last year. According to public records, Wood Partners acquired the 0.2-acre parcel in December 2017 from the Monte Shelton Motor Co., which operated the dealership until it was sold off to the Don Rasmussen Co. in 2016. The existing building, constructed in 1926, will be partially demolished.
