Home appliance maker Whirlpool Corp. has introduced a new series of kitchen appliances tailored for multifamily builders that feature compact dimensions and high performance. The company’s Small Spaces Suite includes a refrigerator, freezer, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and wall oven.

Designed to be more suitable for apartment living, the array of products includes the Low Profile Microwave Hood Combination, a small over-the-range microwave that measures 1.1 cubic feet and has a vent that removes smoke, odor and moisture like a standard hood. Whirlpool also offers an 18-inch Panel-Ready Compact Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub, which is ADA compliant and ENERGY STAR certified.

Coming soon are the 24-inch Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator and the 24-inch Compact Induction Ceramic Glass Cooktop. Whirlpool has also debuted the Smart All-In-One Washer & Dryer, a 2.8-cubic-foot ventless unit that uses an innovative heat pump design, cutting average costs for multifamily builders by eliminating the need to install dryer vents.
