New York—The Aldyn, a newly completed 40-story condo property located at 60 Riverside Blvd. on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, has been selected by the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club as this year’s location for its Decorator Show House. The event began in 1973 when several women’s committee members of the club launched the Show House to raise funds for after school and enrichment programs for New York City children, and this year’s event features the 40th Show House.
Every year, celebrated interior designers transform a Manhattan home into an exhibition of fine furnishings, art, and technology. Over the course of four decades, the project has raised over of $17 million and grown into a destination for design enthusiasts; it’s also recognized for launching interior design trends throughout the world. Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club is a prominent youth development agency in New York and a “flagship” of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Now about 75 percent sold, the Aldyn will showcase two of its four remaining duplex units, averaging over 6,000 square feet each, as part of the event. Thirty-two renowned designers, including Thom Felicia, Laura Bohn and Todd Romano, will have an opportunity to present their vision of the rooms in these residences that boast, among other things, setback terraces and private swimming pools.
Located in the Riverside South neighborhood and designed by architects Goldstein, Hill & West and designers Roman and Williams, the building’s 39 remaining residences include two-, three- and four-bedroom units ranging in price from $1.475 million to $6.9 million. The property also features a private residential athletic club, a 75-foot swimming pool, 38-foot rock-climbing wall, full-size basketball and squash courts, a two-lane bowling alley and club lounge, and a golf simulator. Spa facilities include sauna and steam rooms, and private treatment rooms.
The Show House will be open to the public May 16 through June 14. “We still have an array of available residences,” notes Aldyn sales director Larry Kruysman. “However, we anticipate the increased attention will help bolster our sales even further.”
