Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services is developing the first continuing-care retirement community in the area that is part of a larger retail development.
Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services is developing Viamonte at Walnut Creek, a 174-unit senior community slated for completion in 2020. This will be the first continuing-care retirement community in Contra Costa County and will be part of a larger retail development, The Orchards at Walnut Creek. Led by Terramar Retail Centers, The Orchards will be anchored by grocery store Safeway and will feature abundant retail and outdoor social spaces upon completion.
Located at the at the corner of Shadelands Drive and North Via Monte with easy access to Interstate 680 and just a shuttle ride away from a BART station, the community features one-bedroom, one-bedroom with a den; and two-bedroom and two-bedroom with a den floorplans with bedrooms, walk-in closets and state-of-the-art appliances. Property amenities include a wine bar and restaurant, outdoor dining, a meditation garden, a fire pit, bocce ball court, an indoor pool with an adjoining outdoor sun deck and on-site medical assistance.
The property reached the 25 percent sales mark in its first month, when sales were open exclusively to prospective residents on the Viamonte priority waitlist. Sales are now open to the public. Other recently announced developments in Walnut Creek, just 3.5 miles away, include a 48-unit community to be developed by a joint venture led by The Address Co.
