Trident Development has started construction on Orchard Place Apartments, a 135-unit community in Twin Cities’ Apple Valley suburb. It’s the firm’s 10th property in the area since 2019.
The development team also includes Lyon Contracting Inc., Cole Group Architects, Village Green and Orchard Place Partners LLC. Preleasing is expected to begin next fall, while resident move-ins are slated for late 2026.
Once complete, Orchard Place will feature market-rate residences with studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, enclosed in a four-story building. Community amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center with yoga studio, a sports court, a business center and sky lounge, as well as outdoor gathering spaces, a dog park and a dog wash area.
The development rises on a 5-acre site at 15665 English Ave., across the road from several retail options, including Target, as well as from Quarry Park. Downtown Minneapolis is 22 miles north, while St. Paul is some 20 miles northeast.
Some 7,700 units were under construction in the Twin Cities as of July, along with another 53,000 in the planning and permitting stages, according to the latest Yardi Matrix Metro report. More than 2,400 apartments entered the development pipeline in the first seven months of the year.
