Trevecca Nazarene to Develop $20M Community

Nashville, Tenn.—A new apartment project is underway on a parcel located adjacent to Trevecca Nazarene University. The property owned by the university will become a 126-unit community called Flats of Walden Grove. With construction set to begin this month, Steve Sisson was selected to develop the project. According to the Tennessean, the new community will cost $20 million.

Located between Nance Lane and Parris Avenue on the eastern edge of campus, Flats of Walden Grove will offer 45 one-bedroom apartments and 81 two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 624 to 1,150 square feet. Amenities such as a swimming pool in an internal courtyard, a private exercise facility and covered parking for nearly half the planned parking spaces will be available for residents. Monthly rents are expected to start just under $1,000.

“While owned by the University, this apartment development is for renters interested in living close to downtown and next to a vibrant college community,” Dr. Dan Boone, Trevecca president, said. “This is just another way to invest in the community that surrounds Trevecca.”

“I am excited for this project to serve as the catalyst that transforms the Murfreesboro Road corridor,” added Sisson. “I wanted to be a part of the solution for true workforce housing in Nashville’s downtown district and place a stamp on the future of the region’s housing industry.”

VITA Property Management Group LLC, owned by Sisson, will serve as property manager once construction is completed.
