Glenview, Ill.—Trammel Crow Company, through its subsidiary High Street Residential, announced that it has acquired four buildings on 2.7 acres in Glenview, Ill., including the current local fire department. The company plans to demolish these buildings and build a mixed-use multifamily community called Midtown Square.
When completed, Midtown Square will be a four-story, transit-oriented development with 138 luxury units and 9,000 square feet of retail space. The community will be located near Glenview Station along Glenview Road, which includes the Metra commuter rail and Amtrak.
The community will have one- and two-bedroom units, which will include balconies or patios, granite counter tops, 9-foot ceilings and large cabinets.
Amenities for Midtown Square will include a sun deck, clubroom, dog-wash station, business center, bicycle storage, concierge station, access control entryways, heated parking and a fitness center.
“Midtown Square is a unique because it is a transit-oriented, urban, mixed-use development within the high density, high household income and high barrier to entry market of North Shore Chicago,” John Carlson, senior associate with TCC’s Midwest Business Unit, tells MHN.
The demolition of the current buildings on the property is scheduled for July 2013 and construction of Midtown Square is expected to begin in August 2013.
