TOD Project Coming to Boston’s Jamaica Plain
The 252-unit Residences at Forest Hills will include 4,070 square feet of retail, 146 parking spaces and 250 bicycle spots.

Boston—The Boston Planning & Development Agency recently approved The Residences at Forest Hills, a 252-unit, transit-oriented community located in the city’s Jamaica Plain area, right next to the Forest Hills MBTA Station. The $101 million development will devote 20 percent of the rental units to affordable housing and aim to create 209 construction jobs.
The project has been proposed by Criterion Development. ICON Architecture, Copley Wolff Design Group, Nitsch Engineering and Mintz Development Group are also part of the project.
Located at 3694 Washington St., the three-building project will also include 4,070 square feet of ground-floor retail, 140 parking spaces and 250 bicycle spots. The property will offer 125 one-, 58 two- and 11 three-bedroom units. According to the BPDA, the community will feature complimentary bikes for tenants, electric vehicle charging stations and 38,000 square feet of open space. The Residences at Forest Hills is targeting LEED Silver certification.
