Developer, owner, operator and asset manager Tishman Speyer has topped out the three residential towers of its Jackson Park luxury rental community in New York City’s fastest growing neighborhood, Long Island City, Queens.
Jackson Park will feature more than 1,800 apartments and 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, as well as a private 1.6-acre park. Leasing is scheduled to commence this fall, with first move-ins expected before year end.
Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects and Hill West Architects designed Jackson Park, which fills an entire city block along Queens Plaza South and Jackson Avenue. The three residential towers of the luxury high-rise community, which topped out at 42, 44 and 53 stories, will afford panoramic perspectives on Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
Jackson Park will deliver a broad array of apartment types and floor plans, to fit every lifestyle. A stand-alone, five-story, 45,000-square-foot amenity clubhouse exclusively for residents will provide below-grade linkages to each of the trio of residential towers.
PDQ to G and F
The Long Island City enclave is witnessing a period of unprecedented growth. Part of the reason for that surge is the convenient access to Midtown Manhattan and northwest Brooklyn supplied by the neighborhood’s six major subway lines serving the E, M, R, 7, N and W trains. Residents of Jackson Park will be only steps from the entrances to the G train at Court Square, and to the Queensbridge F train stop on Queens Plaza North.
Tishman Speyer’s newest commercial development, JACX, the largest new creative office development in New York, is directly across the street from Jackson Park. JACX and Jackson Park will comprise Long Island City’s largest mixed-use development.
Upon completion, the development will offer more than 55,000 square feet of retail space, including a food hall, coffee shop, gourmet market, restaurants and boutique fitness locations. JACX is more than 70 percent pre-leased to cutting-edge fashion and tech companies including WeWork, which plans to open a 250,000-square-foot location.
It consists of a pair of 26-story towers and 1.2 million square feet of commercial space, as well as a one-acre landscaped terrace.
Round the clock
“In keeping with our tradition of creating sophisticated living and dynamic work environments in the world’s top markets, Jackson Park is destined to become Long Island City’s most desirable address,” said Tishman Speyer CEO Rob Speyer.
“Tishman Speyer is a pioneer in Long Island City, which has established itself as New York’s most dynamic and sought-after neighborhood. We are excited to deliver a truly 24-7 community where New Yorkers can live, work and play, complete with best-in-class amenities and convenient access to everything New York has to offer.”
