Thompson Thrift plans to develop The Depot, a 300-unit, Class A community in the Raymore suburb of Kansas City, Mo. The company expects to break ground this month and to welcome the first residents in the spring of 2024.

Upon its completion, the community will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, averaging roughly 1,000 square feet, across nine three-story buildings. Common-area amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool and dog park. In-unit amenities will consist of gourmet bar-kitchens with quartz countertops, 9-foot ceilings, walk-in closets and full-sized washers and dryers.

The Depot will be located off Dean Avenue and East 171st Street, adjacent to the Raymore Galleria, as well as a variety of dining options, entertainment venues and retail spaces, including Walmart, Sam’s Club and Lowe’s. Interstate 49 is also nearby, providing commuting options to the area’s major employment centers such as Cerner Corp., Honeywell and Saint Luke’s East Hospital.

Thompson Thrift Residential continues to expand its footprint. Earlier this year, the company broke ground on The Quarry, a 319-unit community in Fort Collins, Colo. Another recent project is the 320-unit Canter, an Orlando-area luxury community. The company’s portfolio includes two other developments in Missouri, The Element and Avenue64, from a total of 37 properties across 20 markets, Yardi Matrix data shows.
