Thompson Thrift is developing Switch, a 276-unit Class A luxury community in Colorado Springs, Colo. Construction is set to begin this month, while first resident move-ins are expected by next year’s fall.

Located at 13200 Voyager Parkway, Switch is the company’s 18th multifamily project in Colorado. The community will sit on 11.9 acres, at the intersection of Voyager Parkway and North Gate Boulevard. The development will comprise eight three-story buildings with layouts ranging from one- to three-bedroom units, averaging 1,000 square feet.

Amenities will include a fitness center, heated swimming pool, billiards and shuffleboard area, bike storage and workshop, dog park, pet spa, a Starbucks, conference room and outdoor entertainment kitchen. According to Yardi Matrix data, the community will also have an enclosed garage. Apartment features include stainless-steel appliances, glass-top ranges, walk-in showers and fully sized washers and dryers.

An intensely developing area

The property is just off Interstate 25. The U.S. Air Force Academy and UCHealth Memorial Hospital North are within 8 miles of the community, as are the Eisenhower Golf Course, the Falcon Stadium and the Interquest shopping mall.

Switch will part of Colorado Springs’ Polaris Pointe development, a 200-acre mixed-use project comprising 60 businesses, as well as a 800-seat entertainment venue that has its own 45,000 square-foot restaurant and event center.

In July, Thompson Thrift broke ground on a similar, yet bigger, luxury community in the Denver metro area. The Landing at Lemay in Fort Collins will be a 344-unit multifamily community ready to receive its residents at the end of 2025.
