New York—The Sheffield, an exclusive residential building in Manhattan, has introduced to resident owners an amenity package designed to help them enhance their health and interact with fellow residents. The Sky Club is The Sheffield’s distinctive collection of lifestyle amenities on the top three floors of the 59-story building, where stunning views of Central Park and the Hudson River are showcased.

The Sky Club is comprised of 15,000 square feet of indoor space, and another 9,000 square feet of outdoor space. Included is a state-of-the-art fitness center with spa managed by Complete Body & Spa, a playroom for children, two social lounges for resident use, and a glass-enclosed rooftop pool.

“The amenities in a building today are extensions of residents’ homes,” Jack Levy, senior managing director of Rose Associates, tells MHN. Rose Associates was original developer of The Sheffield, and returned to develop The Sky Club.

“Using the amenities is a way of meeting your neighbors. In addition to enjoying the amenity floors themselves, residents are very likely to bring guests up to show off all that The Sheffield offers.”

To create a truly distinctive and well-conceived amenity collection, it was essential Rose Associates gain input from the residents of the building, where homes range in price from $775,000 to $7.6 million. “Their feedback was integral in creating the design and uses of the amenity space,” Levy says.
“The residents not only had input, but had to approve what we did. This is one of the unusual cases where the residents had full input into what was built. We actually presented a plan, which they basically adopted. But they had input into the finishes selected by CetraRuddy, the architecture and interior design firm.”

The his-and-hers spa contained in the fitness center features sauna, steam and treatment rooms, as well as a Pilates and yoga studio. The center’s swimming pool measures 39 by 24 feet and provides a sundeck and two social lounges called The Sunrise and The Sunset. In these lounges, residents will find a complete wet bar, Wi-Fi, game and billiard tables, flat-screen TVs and catering kitchen. The roof deck not only features sensational skyline views, but a glass-enclosed pool and barbecue grills as well.

“Residents can now enjoy an unparalleled living experience in the heart of Midtown, just blocks from Central Park, [in] a private, luxury building with premium amenity spaces,” says Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Market Directors, a marketer and exclusive sales agent for residential properties. “The Sheffield lifestyle is truly one of service, location, luxury and style.”

Adds Levy: “Everything is open now, with the exception of the roof decks, which will be opened in May. The new amenity collection has received a very positive reception from the owner residents of The Sheffield.”
