The Hepburn Delivers Luxury to the Capital

A partnership between Lowe Enterprises and National Real Estate Advisors brought a 12-story luxury tower to Washington, D.C.'s Kalorama neighborhood.

The Hepburn DC 2Washington, D.C.—Lowe Enterprises and National Real Estate Advisors partnered up to bring The Hepburn, a new luxury apartment tower to Washington, D.C. Located in the capital’s Kalorama area, on the hill on the east side of Connecticut Avenue, the 12-story tower offers unique views of the city and is built on the last large-scale parcel of land available in both Kalorama and Dupont Circle.

The Hepburn, at 1901 Connecticut Ave., is set to open in the summer of 2016, and offers 195 units in a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, all wrapped in curtain wall glass. The curved building design comes from Beyer Blinder Belle and its contemporary hotel-inspired finishes and amenities are the work of Cecconi Simone, a Toronto-based interior design firm. The Hepburn is also located between the historic Washington Hilton Hotel, which Lowe purchased and renovated for $150 million starting in 2007.

With 25,000 square feet of amenity space, the building offers a dramatic marble and glass lobby, a new fitness concept, a wine bar with temperature-conditioned wine lockers, a library, a private dining room, an elevated private park and a rooftop with city views. In-unit features include floor-to-ceiling glass and open floor plans, kitchens with Bosch and Bloomberg appliances and freestanding islands, spa-style bathrooms with porcelain tile and oversized soaking tubs, wide-plank flooring and Elfa closet systems.

“From our building location, architectural design, unprecedented views and concierge services, The Hepburn combines bespoke service with the fixtures and finishes of high-end residences that comprise this truly special part of Northwest Washington,” said Mark Rivers, senior vice president & managing director of Lowe Enterprises’ Washington, D.C., office.

As the largest manager of independent hotels in the United States through its hotel management company, Destination Hotels, Lowe will offer a bespoke suite of concierge services to complement the luxury lifestyle such as an onsite lifestyle director and large concierge staff. Bozzuto Management has been selected as a strategic partner and property manager for The Hepburn.

“The Hepburn is another example of the high-quality, transformative urban projects which National develops and in which we invest,” said Jeffery Kanne, president & CEO of National Real Estate Advisors. “We are pleased to deliver a truly exceptional product through our partnership with Lowe Enterprises.”
