Sun Communities Buys Southern California MHC for $18M

Sun Communities has expanded its Southern California portfolio with the acquisition of Bel Air Estates, a manufactured housing community in Menifee, Calif. Public records show a local private investor sold the 200-site community for $18 million. HARRI5 brokered the transaction.
Located at 27150 Shadel Road, the property is a block from Interstate 215, within walking distance of several retail and dining options, as well as less than 2 miles from Menifee Global Medical Center and a little over 30 miles from Loma Linda Medical Center Hospital.
The over 55 community includes two community centers, a library, fitness center, pool tables and bingo room. Bel Air Estates also features a large area for communal activities such as potlucks, dinners, movie nights or poker.
Recently, HARRI5 also brokered the sale of Country Villa Estates, a 130-site manufactured housing community in Riverview, Fla. Legacy Communities spent $12.1 million for the over 55 property.
