Strategic Property Partners Breaks Ground on Tampa Building
The firm has kicked off the construction of 815 Water Street, a 420-unit two-tower community. The construction marks the first residential building of the Water Street Tampa project.
Strategic Property Partners has reached a new milestone in the development of Water Street Tampa, a more than 50-acre mixed-use project. The firm broke ground on the first apartment community of the project, a 420-unit dual-tower building. The development is slated for completion by the end of 2020.
The community will be located at 815 Water St., at the intersection of Channelside Drive and Water Street, in the heart of the neighborhood, less than 1 mile from the city’s downtown. Additionally, the community will be positioned across from Amelia Arena and within a 5-minute walk of Hero’s Plaza and Tampa Bay History Center.
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associated, the 21- and 26-story towers will be connected by 35,000 square feet of retail space and five levels of parking. The residential towers will also encompass three-bedroom units featuring wrap-around, floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies. Both towers offer communal-area amenities such as an outdoor pool, fitness center, community kitchen and bar and club lounge on the roof.
“(The development) is truly mixed-use to the extent that while it is ultimately a residential offering, a focus on a strong ground-floor retail experience was a primary consideration, ensuring that it was interwoven into the fabric of the building and the Water Street Tampa neighborhood,” said Rebecca Snyder, senior vice president of Residential Development at Strategic Property Partners.
