Spaces Real Estate has started pre-leasing Hazel Place, a 15-unit, three-story multifamily property in Chicago’s Buena Park neighborhood. The community has been undergoing renovations, which are led by the local firm Arbor Investment Management, with the first units available for move-in starting May. Rents are estimated to start at $2,625 per month.

Built in 1901 at 4337 N. Hazel St., Hazel Place is one of the several Buena Park vintage properties which are being repositioned. It is considered to be a landmark for the neighborhood, as it is one of the first luxury apartment properties coming to the area.

Smart community

Arbor has preserved the historic elements of the building such as its brick exterior, the ornate entryway and parts of the original stained glass windows, all while modernizing the units and common areas. The firm also added a rooftop deck which includes pergolas and seating areas.

“Hazel Place is optimally located in the heart of one of Chicago’s most popular North Side neighborhoods, just a half-mile from the lakefront, so we wanted to take full advantage of that by adding the rooftop deck,” said Sam Goldman of Arbor Investment Management, in a prepared statement.

The property offers two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 924 to 1,358 square feet. The high-end finishes are considered to match those of modern downtown high-rises, which include:

  • red oak hardwood flooring
  • modern kitchens with two-tone cabinetry
  • quarts countertops
  • tile backsplashes
  • stainless steel appliances
  • spacious walk-in closets in the bedroom

In addition, each unit is equipped with smart features such as keyless smartphone-ready entry, smart lighting controls, Nest Thermostats and full Amazon Echo integration. A pet-washing station and a bicycle storage area are also available.

The property’s location just a few blocks from Lake Michigan offers residents convenient access to Montrose Beach, the Lakefront Trail, Sydney Marovitz Golf Course and the Broadway corridor with its shopping and dining venues. The nearest public transit station is within a 10-minute walking distance.
