SoulCycle, the country’s premier indoor cycling brand, has signed a 4,200-square-foot lease at OneEleven, a 60-story ultra-luxury apartment tower developed by Related Midwest, for its first location in Chicago’s Loop.

Chicago—Related Midwest has announced that indoor cycling chain SoulCycle has inked a lease for the 4,200-square-foot ground-floor space at the developer’s upscale mixed-use residential tower, OneEleven, in Chicago. The cycling studio’s entrance will be located along Wacker Drive and is scheduled to open next fall.

“SoulCycle has become the go-to cycling studio in cities like New York and Los Angeles, so it’s exciting to have OneEleven represent the company’s first location in Chicago’s Loop,” says Curt Bailey, president of Related Midwest. “Their unique and inspirational programming is a seamless fit with the active lifestyle of the people who live and work in downtown Chicago.”

OneEleven opened earlier this year and the studio will add an additional health and wellness option to the 60-story development’s list of resident amenities, which includes, among other facilities and services, an indoor pool and world-class fitness center.

SoulCycle already has 32 locations around the United States and is planning to expand to more than 60 studios, both internationally and domestically, by 2016. Cycling workouts are offered in 45-minute classes, with workout rooms that feature low-lit studios designed to emulate more of a nightclub feel, rather than a health club, according to a press release issued by Midwest Related. Sessions are synched with unique playlists and aim to provide core, upper-body training with the help of professional and inspirational coaching.

In addition to the studios, facilities at the OneEleven SoulCycle location are slated to include men’s and women’s locker rooms, a SOUL boutique the will feature branded clothing and accessories.

“As one of the largest and most bike-friendly cities in the country, Chicago was a logical place for us to expand our brand,” says Elizabeth Cutler, co-CEO and co-Founder of SoulCycle, who started the company in 2006 with Julie Rice. “Each day, more than 10,000 riders leave our studios feeling mentally and physically stronger, and we’re excited to invite Chicagoans along for the ride.”

OneEleven’s tower includes 504 luxury units offered in a mix of studio, convertibles, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plan options, as well as penthouses.  The building includes two levels of amenities for its residents. The retail component comprises 32,000 square feet of space on the first floor. SoulCycle is the building’s first commercial tenant.

“The forward-thinking design of OneEleven perfectly suits SoulCycle’s innovative approach to fitness,” Bailey says. “The addition of SoulCycle not only strengthens OneEleven’s position as a downtown destination, but also adds to the amenity offerings already available to resident of the building.”
