Smith & Fong Introduces 3D Palm Wood Contemporary Wall Panel System

San Francisco—Smith & Fong Co., manufacturer of Durapalm palm architectural plywood and flooring products, recently introduced DecoPalm, a line of premium, contemporary, three-dimensional wall paneling products contrived from reclaimed palm wood.

“DecoPalm delivers a unique, multi-textural surface,” said Dan Smith, founder, Smith & Fong. “Its rustic but modern lines contrast well with contemporary materials like steel, glass and concrete.”

Palm offers a wide range of tones and grains that, according to Smith, bring life to a space like no other natural material. It delivers a great look and feel for a variety of interior environments from hospitality and retail to educational and institutional.

Created entirely from reclaimed palm lumber, DecoPalm panels have no added formaldehyde and comply with California Section 01350 VOC emissions standards, a more rigorous protocol than CARB II. Offered in dimensions of ¾” x 6” x 48”, the panels mesh impeccably to create a massive wall or ceiling surface. The use of DecoPalm panels can contribute to multiple USGBC LEED® V4 Credits.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in San Francisco, Smith & Fong Co. was the first U.S. company to manufacture bamboo flooring for sale in North America under the brand name Plyboo in 1993. In 1996, the firm began producing bamboo plywood, followed by coconut palm flooring and plywood products in 2000.
