SHAG Opens Newest WA Senior Housing

The Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG) has opened its newest community in Lynnwood, Wash., Lynnwood City Center Senior Living. 

Lynnwood City Center Senior Living offers close proximity to interstates 5 and 405, the Alderwood Shopping Mall, Lynnwood Convention Center and retail shopping, dining and entertainment. The transit-oriented development features a dedicated community transit van and car-sharing program with an electric vehicle. A selection of apartments are reserved for individuals and households with fixed incomes. 

Active Senior Living 

Located at 19501 40th Ave. W, the 308-unit community features one- and two-bedroom floorplans ranging from 515 to 787 square feet. Monthly rental rates range from $861 to $1,640. Interiors include energy efficient appliances, wall-to-wall carpeting in living rooms and bedrooms and closet organizers. Residents of Lynnwood have access to community amenities such as:

• social room and TV lounge
• fully-equipped fitness center

“The opening of Lynnwood City Center Senior Living represents our third mixed income community,” Jay Woolford, executive director of SHAG, told Multi-Housing News. “With communities such as these, we are opening up to a broader group of older adults, not only those who quality for low income but providing more flexibility for those looking for greater housing options. We see this is filling an important niche and have several additional communities under construction or in development.”

This marks the company’s 26th senior housing community, serving more than 5,500 residents in the Puget Sound region.
