Senior Living Community Underway Near Sarasota
The 197-unit property, designed to comprise independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments, is scheduled to open in August.

Civitas Senior Living and Experience Senior Living Development have started construction on The Gallery at North Port, a 197-unit senior housing property in North Port, Fla. Having OZ Architecture as project architect, Core Construction as contractor and Senior by Design as interior designer, the facility is slated to open in August.
Situated at 1322 N. Main St., the three-story community will feature independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments, as well as independent living cottages. Amenities will include a swimming pool, bocce ball court, community garden, creative arts studio, fitness center and wine bar. Civitas will also manage the property.
Located 2 miles south of Interstate 75, the development site is across the street from George Mullen Activity Center. Several shopping and dining venues are within walking distance, including Heron Creek Towne Center. The North Port Symphony and Heron Creek Golf & Country Club are also nearby.
A few days ago, Civitas and joint venture partner Guttmann Properties have opened a 177-unit luxury senior housing community in Prospect, Ky. The 191,832-square-foot asset has independent living, personal care and memory care residences.
