San Francisco Tower Gets $25M Facelift
Related Cos. brought in Marmol Radziner to redesign The Paramount, aiming for a better fit with the neighborhood’s commitment to the arts.
Related Companies has invested $25 million to redesign The Paramount, a 43-story multifamily development in San Francisco’s SoMa district.
The building was constructed in 2001 and Related decided it was time to update the design of its 387 units, lobby, common spaces and apartments.
“We set out to bring a fresh, modern aesthetic to all aspects of the building from the lobby and amenities to the corridors and residences with a sophisticated, elevated, and approachable design,” Joe Walsh, Related’s senior project manager, told MHN. “The Paramount has always been considered one of the best buildings in San Francisco and we wanted to ensure that we continue to elevate the experience for our residents and maintain its position in the marketplace.”
The Paramount’s apartments consist of studios to two-bedroom units and feature oversized windows, hardwood flooring, new kitchens with stainless steel-integrated Bosch appliances and walnut cabinetry, and bathrooms with Italian tile flooring.
Designed by Marmol Radziner, the building’s updated, modern look better fits in with the neighborhood’s commitment to the arts.
“At Related, we are long-term holders and reinvesting in our core assets, providing a best-in-class offering, and continuing to evolve in order to best meet the needs of our residents is paramount,” Bill Witte, Chairman & CEO of Related California, told MHN.
Added amenities focus on functional and social space and the development boats a state-of-the-art fitness center, a yoga studio, a landscaped rooftop terrace with lounge seating, a heated outdoor swimming pool, cabanas and a rooftop dog run.
“Residents enjoy complimentary 24-hour on-site valet parking, valet dry cleaning services, on-site personal storage, on-site bicycle storage, a concierge, and RelatedStyle Services,” Walsh said. “Additionally, as owners of Equinox and Soul Cycle, Related provides The Paramount’s residents with exclusive benefits at both establishments. Residents of The Paramount are also given access to unlimited 30-minute rides with Bay Area Bike Share for their first year.”
