A joint venture including Ryan Cos., Grand Living Management and Bow River Capital have started construction on Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes, a 186-unit luxury senior living community in League City, Texas.

The development is expected to come online in the spring of 2023. Bank of the West provided construction financing for the project.

Ryan Architecture + Engineering serves as the project’s design architect. Once construction is complete, Grand Living Management will handle operations at the community and Bow River Capital will offer asset management services.

The four-story building totaling 211,805 square feet will feature a mix of independent and assisted living units amounting to 148 apartments, while 38 units will be memory care.

The amenity-rich Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes will include a lounge, a library, dining spots, a theater, a spa, a salon, a fitness center, a swimming pool, game rooms, as well as a chapel and therapy rooms.

Part of a larger community

The senior housing project is part of Johnson Development’s Tuscan Lakes, an 870-acre master-planned community inspired by its namesake region in Italy. Tuscan Lakes offers 225 acres of lakes and open spaces filled with walkways along with a hike and bike trail.

The development along League City Parkway is less than a mile from the South Shore Boulevard retail corridor and some 6 miles southeast of NASA Johnson Space Center. Downtown Houston is within 28 miles northwest.

The project is the third senior living community under the Grand Living umbrella within the state and the 11th nationwide. In September, Ryan Cos. kicked off construction of Grand Living at Wellen Park in Venice, Fla. The 192-unit development is also slated for a 2023 delivery.
