RHP Properties Buys Central Florida MHC
The new owner plans to upgrade the property and also add 20 affordable homes.
RHP Properties has acquired Winter Haven, a 55-plus manufactured home community in Winter Haven, Fla. The 238-site property last traded in 2005, when the current seller acquired it for $5.8 million, Polk County records show.
Winter Haven is located at 50 Lake Charlotte Drive West and includes amenities such as fitness and health facilities, a swimming pool, a library, a clubhouse, a ballroom, as well as RV storage and parking.
The property is situated 6.5 miles from downtown Winter Haven and Winter Haven Hospital, 8 miles from the interactive park Legoland, and close to retail options such as Walmart, Lowe’s or Publix. Winter Haven is close to Saddle Creek Park, Bond Clinic, Eagle Ridge Mall and within 13 miles of downtown Lakeland, Fla.
The new ownership plans to revamp the community’s roads, upgrade its clubhouse and office, and also add 20 new affordable homes. The improvement strategy will be implemented within over the next 18 months.
RHP Properties has been actively investing in manufactured housing communities. Earlier this year, the company acquired three MHC assets in Iowa for a combined $69.3 million.
