IL Mixed-Use Development Opens
LMC and Clark Street Real Estate are opening The Emerson, located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. The community includes 270 units and a retail component.

LMC, a subsidiary of Lennar specializing in multifamily properties, along with Clark Street Real Estate, is preparing to open the leasing office of The Emerson, a mixed-use development in west suburban Oak Park, Ill. At the same time, a Target store that will anchor the retail space of the property is also going to open.
The Emerson includes 270 apartment units in a five-story mid-rise and a 20-story high-rise. It also features 25,000 square feet of retail space. According to the developers, the project is designed to enhance the already pedestrian-friendly nature of Oak Park.
Located at 1135 Westgate Street, The Emerson’s buildings are connected via a pedestrian bridge over Westgate St., with a new public parking garage at the base of the high-rise. The residential portion of the property consists of studio, one- and two-bedroom units.
Common amenities include a fitness center and multi-sport training studio, heated outdoor swimming pool, private cabanas with resort-quality outdoor furniture, outdoor grills, a landscaped outdoor deck with city views and a business center with private offices. Residents also will have access to package concierge and a dry-cleaning locker system.
Retail
Besides Target, other retailers that will soon be opening at the site include the Groomery by Petsmart, Wheel & Sprocket and Firecakes Donuts. The Target will feature an in-store Starbucks and CVS Pharmacy, while the Groomery offers grooming, self-service spa stations and pet-related merchandise.
