Related Development LLC, the multifamily and mixed-use arm of The Related Group, topped off its Icon Midtown project, formerly known as Apogee Midtown, in Atlanta. The project marks Related’s entrance into Georgia, broadening the company’s Southeast expansion.
The 39-story, 390-unit building is a multi-phase development of Phase I residential and a Phase II Whole Foods Market. The $118 million Icon Midtown Phase I is set for completion in January 2018. Apartments will be offered in studio, one,- two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 595 to 1,475 square feet. Interior features will include floor-to-ceiling glass windows, quartz countertops with two-tone white lacquer and wood grain cabinets, walk-in closets and vertical spa tub-shower combinations in select units.
“As Related Development’s first project in Atlanta, we are excited to see the progression of Icon Midtown and how it will positively impact the quality of life for residents in Atlanta’s Midtown district,” Ed Allen, senior vice president of Related Development, told Multi-Housing News. “Icon Midtown will be an excellent addition to Related Development’s growing portfolio of upscale rental offerings in Atlanta, and will pave the way for future projects in the area.”
Residents of the tower will have access to amenities and services including a fitness center with spin, steam, and private massage treatment rooms; direct lobby access to Whole Foods; an outdoor dining room with a fireplace; a spa hot tub with glass front offering a 120 feet high view; heated pool extending under the residential tower; a rooftop clubroom with bar and lounge for special events; a media/theater room; a gaming lounge; a 39th floor terrace with 360 degree views and a fire pit; a ground-floor lobby with 4,000 square feet of retail; a nine-story garage that offers 642 spaces and an outdoor amenity deck that is located on the 11th floor of the parking garage. The project is designed by Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates.
“Midtown’s flourishing business district and status as one of the most desirable, walkable neighborhoods in the city really spoke to us,” said Allen. “With Icon Midtown, we set out to create a project that both complements and enhances the surrounding neighborhood and this top-off brings us one step closer to that goal. We are thrilled to bring Related’s level of excellence to Atlanta residents and look forward to opening our doors early next year.”
Icon Midtown is located in close proximity to nearby attractions and transportation including the Woodruff Art Center, Piedmont Park, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Art Center MARTA Station, Turner Broadcast Campus, GA Tech, Atlantic Station, and Interstate 75 and 85, the Downtown Connector.
