Raleigh Senior Community Expands
Kisco Senior Living’s Cardinal at North Hills will expand its campus with a 15-story high-rise building, which will add 160 units to the property.
Kisco Senior Living’s Cardinal at North Hills, a senior housing community in Raleigh, N.C., will expand its campus with a 15-story high-rise building, which will add nearly 160 units to the property.
Many of the new units will offer more than 2,000 square feet of living space and will boast spacious balconies that offer picturesque views of the vibrant North Hills area.
“We are having outstanding success with The Cardinal campus and already have an extensive wait list,” Andy Kohlberg, Kisco Senior’s president & CEO, said. “Many residents expressed a desire for a community that provides a wonderful urban location with convenient access to high-quality amenities, five-star hospitality, underground parking and a full continuum of health care services if the need arises.”
THW Design is designing the expansion and Welltower is funding the real estate infrastructure for the project. The expansion plans are currently awaiting approval by state and local agencies, and once completed, construction should begin early next year.
The new tower will feature one- and two-bedroom independent living and assisted living floor plans, including penthouse options. It will also add amenities to the campus, including pre-function dinner spaces, outdoor entertainment areas and additional dining venues.
“Sometimes, one spouse needs care services and the other can still live independently,” Brian Grandbouche, The Cardinal at North Hills’ operations team leader, said. “Both spouses can live comfortably in a generously-sized residence that serves each of their needs.”
The six-acre campus currently features 165 luxury independent living residences, plus assisted living apartments, memory care suites, private rooms for short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing.
Current amenities in the community include healthy chef-prepared meals available in multiple dining venues, a state-of-the-art fitness center and award-winning wellness program, full-service health and beauty salon, blooming gardens, courtyards with walking paths, outdoor entertaining areas and terraces, and a full list of daily programs to choose from. New amenities will be added with the tower addition.
The Cardinal at North Hills is in Raleigh’s North Hills Midtown District, close by numerous walking trails, retail stores, restaurants, theaters, and healthcare services.
“The North Hills master-planned community really sets this apart,” Kohlberg said. “Residents are just steps away from a variety of retail shops, restaurants, theaters, concerts, medical services, parks and walking trails, entertainment venues, bars and much more. The North Hills area attracts people from all generations.”
