Southern Land Co. unveiled its plans for Morada Plano, a mixed-use apartment development in downtown Plano, Texas. Construction is set to be completed in 2018. The five-story, two-building project will feature 183 units and 12,700 square feet of first level restaurant and retail space.

“Morada Plano is the second high-quality apartment community that Southern Land has developed in the heart of historic downtown Plano,” said Tim Downey, CEO of Southern Land Co. “The preservation of the history of downtown Plano is what continues to draw us to the area. Residents will experience walkable, urban living and high-end amenities in a charming neighborhood with a vintage feel.”

Located at 1009 14th St., Morada Plano will comprise one- and two-bedroom floorplans ranging from 545 to 1,297 square feet. Interior apartment features will include high-end finishes, wood laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances, outdoor balconies, quartz countertops with islands, side-by-side refrigerators and washer/dryers. Residents will have access to community amenities such as:

  • landscaped pool
  • 24-hour fitness center
  • business center
  • community-wide Wi-Fi
  • deck with private gazebos and flat-screen televisions
  • game room
  • pet parlor for on-site pet grooming

“We are excited to continue creating remarkable communities in historic downtown Plano with the development of Morada Plano,” Downey told Multi-Housing News. “Downtown Plano is a great setting for residents who want a variety of local dining and shopping options at their doorstep.”

The Morada Plano development will be located in close proximity to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit station, McCall Plaza, Haggard Park and several dining and retail options. The company has been busy this year, having recently completed 3601 Market, a newly constructed Class A luxury apartment tower in Philadelphia’s University City submarket.
