Luxury MD Senior Housing Welcomes Residents

Capitol Seniors Housing opened the 84-unit assisted living and memory care community in the heart of Anne Arundel County. The Arbor Co. will operate the 72,140-square-foot facility.

Capitol Seniors Housing has opened Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel, an 84-unit assisted living and memory care community in Gambrills, Md. The Arbor Co. will operate the 72,140-square-foot facility. Moseley Architects shaped the $27.2 million project, while Dallas-based Faulkner Design Group designed the interiors.

The property is located at 2535 Evergreen Road in the heart of Anne Arundel County, equidistant from Baltimore and Washington D.C. The senior community is near Interstate 95 and adjacent to Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, the 79-acre shopping mall featuring numerous retailers, restaurants and an IMAX theatre. Downtown Washington D.C. is 25 miles west of the community, while Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is 15.5 miles north.

Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel consists of a three-story building with landscaped surroundings, including assisted living and memory care units with various floorplans. Community amenities include a bistro area, library, multipurpose room for crafts and games, fitness/rehab room, salon and spa, theater and other areas for socialization and activities. Residents are offered restaurant-style dining, scheduled transportation and medical care, but also well-being services such as yoga and Tai Chi classes and speech therapy.

Capitol Seniors Housing currently has three senior housing communities in Maryland and more than 90 properties nation-wide. In April, the company opened a 85-unit facility in Shrewsbury, N.J., the first assisted living and memory care property built in the borough since 2000.
