CDP Opens Affordable Senior Community in SF Bay Area

Community Development Partners has opened The Huntington, an affordable senior community in Morgan Hill, Calif. The community includes 114 affordable senior units for those earning between 50 and 60 percent of the area median income. Designed by KTGY Architecture + Planning and built by Barry Swenson Builders, the community will be managed by FPI Management. Foundation for Affordable Housing is the non-profit partner in this project.
Located at 16505 Butterfield Blvd., the community is some 25 miles from San Jose, Calif., and within a two-hour drive of San Francisco. Designed for independent living, units are available in one-, two- and three-bedroom designs, ranging from 550 to 1,000 square feet. Amenities include:
- indoor and outdoor dining areas
- commercial kitchen
- craft room
The Green Point-rated community will provide meals through a program managed by Loaves & Fishes. EngAGE will be in charge of on-site services.
Financial partners of the project include the California Statewide Communities Development Authority, Citibank, Boston Financial, Local Initiatives Support Corporation and California Tax Credit Allocation Community.
