American Landmark Expands GA Portfolio

The new owner plans to rebrand the community and undertake a $2.4 million improvement program.

American Landmark Apartments has acquired 880 Lakeside, a 222-unit community in Marietta, Ga. According to Yardi Matrix data, the previous owner was Wilkinson Corp. The acquisition brings American Landmark’s Georgia portfolio to eight assets and a total of 2,500 units.

The new owner will rebrand the property as The Bentley at Marietta and plans to undertake a $2.4 million capital improvement program. Renovations will include upgraded granite countertops, new cabinets, stainless steel appliances, plumbing fixtures, a grilling table, a dog park and a refurbished fitness center/clubhouse and swimming pool. Completed in 1985, the community comprises one- and two-bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens, walk-in closets and washer/dryer units.

Located at 880 S. Cobb Drive, the community is 2 miles from downtown Marietta. The surrounding area has several retail and dining options including Bellemeade Shopping Center, which is 2 miles from the property.

In April, American Landmark Apartments appointed a new chief administrative officer. In her new role, Rachel Palmer is responsible for managing a 90-community portfolio across the U.S.
