Pollack Shores RE Breaks Ground on New Largo, Fla., Luxury Community
Construction is underway on Largo’s first luxury apartment community in nearly 20 years, as Pollack Shores Real Estate Group announced that it has broken ground on its 342-unit Gateway North community in the Gateway area of the Tampa suburb.

Largo, Fla.—Construction is underway on Largo’s first luxury apartment community in nearly 20 years, as Pollack Shores Real Estate Group announced that it has broken ground on its 342-unit Gateway North community in the Gateway area of the Tampa suburb.
Pollack Shores was able to capitalize on an impact fee moratorium that went into effect in June of 2012 and will expire in May 2014. The goal of moratorium was to ease fees associated with residential development in an attempt to encourage new residential construction and business growth.
“This is an extremely important project for Largo Town Center,” says Largo Community Development Director Carol Stricklin. “As the first high-end, luxury apartment community here in roughly 20 years, it brings a new residential character to the area. It’s also a very important catalyst for redevelopment.”
The Gateway North will be situated on a sprawling 16.25 acres and will feature convenient access to restaurants, shopping and public transportation, including the nearly completed Walmart Superstore and Pinellas Suncoast County Transit Authority transit center.
The community will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, with common amenities of a lake with walking trail, resort-style clubhouse and pool, cabanas, a fitness center, a business center and outdoor grilling and entertainment areas.
Residences in the three-story community will have private patios or balconies, washer and dryer hook-ups, walk-in closets, ceramic tile, microwaves and dishwashers.
The first apartments are expected to be move-in ready by spring of 2014, while the rest of the community is targeting fall of the same year for total completion.
