Phyn Introduces Water Leak Detection System
The NSF-certified device monitors the plumbing system, sends real-time alerts, runs inspections and, in the event of a leak, turns off water flow with an automatic shut-off valve.
Phyn Plus is an NSF-certified water leak detection system designed in collaboration with Uponor, a leading supplier of residential plumbing, and manufactured by water metering expert Badger Meters. The device monitors temperature, flow and pressure in plumbing systems. Using patented, high-definition pressure wave sensing to alert when leak is detected, Phyn Plus can diagnose potential problems and mitigate costly damage through automatic shutoff.
Key features of the product are:
- Automatic shut-off valve that turns off the water in the event of a leak
- Mobile app with real-time mobile notifications and the option to turn off the water remotely
- Daily plumbing checks that constantly watch for leaks and diagnose any issues
- Water consumption monitoring
Unlike other water monitors, which require installing multiple sensors, Phyn Plus monitors the water system from a single device at one location on a main water line. The device connects to an existing Wi-Fi network and requires a power outlet to be located within 15 feet. It is intended for main water lines no larger than 1.25 inches and with a maximum working pressure of 125 psi. Phyn Plus can be installed indoors and outdoors, but it is recommended that a professional plumber completes the installation.
